The Schedule for Kristina The Schedule for Kristina

Welcome to New York! Here is the schedule for Sept. 23-26, 2009 for meetups surrounding the Carnegie Hall presentation of "Kristina" by B&B. When you arrive at each location, tell the maitre d' that you are here with the Kristina group.

  • Wednesday, Sept. 23. We meet, starting at 4 p.m. (1600) at Seppi's New York, a French restaurant, for food and drinks, and as a staging area for Kristina. Although we can get there at 4, we expect most people will arrive around 5ish or later. So don't worry about getting to the restaurant at any special time. Just join the party when you can. The restaurant is around the corner from Carnegie Hall and will take about two minutes to walk to the box office. To see the restaurant's website, just click here. We told the management that we would number about 40-50, but that is a guess. You may order food and/or alcoholic beverages. You will easily find us by just walking straight back from the from the front door and down a two-step decline. The manager's name is Frank Debons. The restaurnat is located at 123 West 56th Street, and the phone number is 1-212-708-7444. Please note: When using telephones within the continental United States, dial a 1 before dialing any number. Note that the 1 is placed before each number on this page. The picture below is an interior shot of the restaurant, and the picture at right is the exterior.

  • Thursday, Sept. 24. We return to Seppi's tonight, primarily because it is so close to Carnegie Hall, and most people wanted to go back to a familiar place. We told the manager that we would have fewer people this night, and that we would start arriving closer to 5 or 5:30 p.m., so plan accordingly. All the details are the same. The menu is quite extensive, so do not think you will have to eat gruel both nights. The food is quite elegant, though, like all restaurants in the neighborhood, quite pricey. You do not have to order a full meal, however.
  • Ferry Ride to the Statue of Liberty on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 11 a.m. Note that Norma Parker is organizing a trip to the Statue of Liberty on Thursday. Meet at the South Ferry station, just outside the gate to take the ferry to Staten Island. It is about a 600 meter walk from the subway station (about the equivalent of 3 blocks). We will meet outside the gate at 11 and take the next ferry. You can bring a lunch to eat on the grass if it is a nice day, or you can buy lunch there. Please note, the elevator inside the statue only brings you to the base of the statue itself. From there is it a long climb on a series of spiral staircases to the crown, where you can look out over New York Harbor. Some people give up and go down after climbing half way. Please tell Norma, Laura, George, or Ron that you intend to go so we can meet you. This is a chance to see the inside of the Statue of Liberty, the symbol of the United States donated by the people of France. The ferry stops at both the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, the place where literally millions of immigrants came to America at the turn of the century. Since we will have limited time, we have decided to go to the Statue of Liberty, but if you want, you can get off at Ellis Island and tour the buildings there. Check out this link for all the details.
  • Friday, Sept. 25. Since many of our visitors will be around for the weekend, we have set the Redeye grill as the meeting place/watering hole to gather on Friday night at 7 p.m. It is a modern, commercial, American-style restaurant located at 890 7th Avenue. Phone is 1-212-541-9000. The manager is Jennica, and to look at the restaurant website, click here. The Redeye is also located near Carnegie Hall, so you can check it out before the day we gather there. It has a full bar and a full, albeit expensive, selection of food. Meals are in the 20-dollar range.
  • Saturday, Sept. 26. We know that some ABBA fans will still be in New York for the weekend. For this evening, if you want to find us, we will be at the Brooklyn Diner in the middle of Times Square. Please note: it is not in Brooklyn! The location is 155 West 43rd St., and the phone is 1-212-265-5400. Click here for the website. Please note there are two locations for this restaurant, and one is near Carnegie Hall. That is NOT the one we are meeting at. We are going to be at the other one, in midtown Manhattan near Broadway. The manager is Jason, and we plan to arrive about 8 p.m. From there, some of us may wish to go elsewhere in the city.
